“Małopolska Otwarta” is a partnership project implemented by the Małopolskie Voivode (leader) and the Małopolskie Voivodship (partner). Its purpose is to provide comprehensive services to third-country nationals in the region, to expand the scope of integration services and to develop a program document that will constitute a framework for a coherent, effective and efficient policy towards immigrants in Małopolska.

Developing a program of integration of immigrants in the region is the main task of the Małopolska Region. The program applies to Ukrainian citizens and third-country nationals who left Ukraine after Russia’s armed attack on that country, as well as other third-country nationals, both forced and economic immigrants, who choose Małopolska as their center of life.

Setting objectives and directions of activities as well as working out recommendations for specific solutions will make it possible to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the process of including immigrants in the social and economic life of the region. The very process of developing the document contributes to increasing the cooperation of entities working for the integration of immigrants and the coordination of their activities. It is conducted in a way that involves a wide range of entities dealing with this subject from various backgrounds. Persons representing: government and local government administration, civil society, employers, immigrant communities and experts are involved in the work on the programme, including through participation in diagnostic and strategic workshops.

CASPAR researchers took an active part in planning and conducting extensive expert consultations as part of the so-called problem and strategic workshops.

In addition, CASPAR carried out a detailed analysis of the situation of economic and forced immigrants in:

  • Nowy Sącz
  • Tarnów
  • Olkusz
